SOBER EVENTS GUIDE AUGUST

August 11, 2025

Vee Willard

You asked for it, and we created it! A monthly roundup of events in the city that are alcohol-free or where alcohol is present but easily ignored

Screenings, plays, craft nights, trips to the park – here are a few of the ways this guide will help you pass the time while sticking to your sobriety goals. Having a diverse range of interests and a handful of safe events to attend is always useful when trying to stay sober. Develop an interest in the theatre (cue snobby accent on “theatre”)! Learn what’s going on in our parks! Is it fun? It might be! There are plenty of things to keep you busy – you just have to look. What do people make at craft nights? Go find out and then make it yourself! There are much worse, and more regrettable, ways to spend your time.

Please note that this guide is put together to the best of the ability of our alcohol-free Events Editor Vee, who does her best, but may not always get it right. Please use your best judgement and if an event is making you feel uncomforted or tempted to break your sobriety goals, consider leaving, and if you want to, let us know
