TSHA Presents: Jackfruit at Standard Time!

With support from Hangaëlle

Accolade after accolade, TSHA has worked her way to the top echelons of UK dance music with scores of multi-country residencies, in-demand parties, and hotly-tipped releases under her belt. Now, she adds to those triumphs with the launch of her new record label, Jackfruit, after years spent nurturing and evolving her acclaimed event series of the same name.

As a DJ, producer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Fareham-born artist Teisha has quietly become one of the UK’s most sought-after acts under her TSHA alias. Raised on a musical palette of classic house and garage thanks to her brother’s extensive record collection, TSHA’s distinguishable sound now arrives at the intersection of melodic house, Balearic, and high-tempo club music.

TSHA’s self-taught dexterity behind the decks has earned her shows from Glastonbury to Coachella and beyond, while holding down gigs at some of the UK’s most beloved clubs, including a recent four-week stint at London’s Phonox. With her club night and event series Jackfruit, TSHA puts the audience front and centre with a party made for “living in the moment”, with a no-phone policy that calls for pure connection and euphoria on the dancefloor. To date, Jackfruit has made stops everywhere from Pikes Ibiza to Movement Festival in Detroit.

TSHA’s Jackfruit party expands beyond its club form and becomes a record label home to ‘Revolution’, a recent single that muses on “the digital overwhelm” and breaking away from online noise. “‘Revolution’ is a play on Gil Scott-Heron’s ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Televised’, but this track is about putting your phone away and living in the moment,” she says. “As a party, Jackfruit is a place for escapism. It puts the punter at the centre rather than the DJ, and allows you to really lose yourself.”

Hangaëlle is a Toronto-based Mozambican DJ and producer. Known for her versatility, she is especially sought out for her genre-fluid sets that seamlessly weave Afro-electronic music, club hits, and global dance sounds into euphoric sonic experiences.

Having co-founded Kuruza and Amaproblem, and more recently moving into independent curatorial work with the launch of her first solo event, Mhmmm, at CODA Nightclub, her contributions to Toronto’s music landscape have continued to establish her as a key figure in the city’s club culture.

See you on May 15th - you don't want to miss this one!
