The year is 2026. Discourse stalks the land. Infographics rain down from the sky. Polycules and puppy girls, meme admins and he/him dykes — no one is safe from intra-community warfare. Now is the time for STRAPS 9: LOVE & ATE ⚔️💪🏾💉💊⚔️💪🏾💉💊⚔️
This STRAPS we’re holding our first 🏳️⚧️TRANS ONLY🏳️⚧️ competition. That’s right, competing is reserved EXCLUSIVELY for trans people of all stripes. Lose to beautiful eggs and their big biceps! Lock hands (and hearts) with that cocky short king on Grindr! Log off of Discord! Now! All are welcome, cis or trans, to participate in the audience and cheer/boo! YES that means your cis bisexual trans ally boyfriend is welcome and SHOULD come
February 5th @ Houndstooth. Doors at 7PM and wrestling begins at 7:45PM. 💸💸 FREE ENTRY/NO DOOR/NEVER TIERED TICKETS 💸💸
Head to our bio on instagram to sign up for our three categories: MUSCLE MARY, MID, and NOODLE. Spaces go FAST. If you miss it, sign up for the waitlist or pull up to Houndstooth early because new spaces always open the day of the event
🏳️⚧️ STRAPS is a DIY event run by trans people for trans people. STRAPS will always centre the most vulnerable members of our community. In our current moment, that remains transsexual women and specifically those who are Indigenous, Black, racialized, disabled, fat, undocumented, and/or housing insecure. This does not ignore nor diminish the very real violence, both institutional and interpersonal, trans men, transmascs, and nonbinary people on T experience daily. Though no space can be made 100% safe, we ask everyone to be accountable to each other
🫂 STRAPS 9: LOVE & ATE is a fundraiser for a Black trans woman who wishes to remain anonymous facing imminent housing insecurity. All proceeds are split between the recipient of our fundraiser and the artist(s) who make our merch and/or posters. We take nothing for ourselves
♿️ ACCESSIBILITY: There is a wheelchair ramp to enter the space upon request. Washrooms, however, are down a set of stairs. The A&W at the NE corner of College and Ossington has wheelchair accessible washrooms
