The Ritual Story & Collective Art Project

After being laid off last year from our decade-long corporate roles as a Creative Director and a Director of Culture & Change Management, my partner and I decided to channel our energy into something we felt was missing in the city. We love electronic music and deeply value community, but we often felt there was a tradeoff: go to a non-queer event with incredible sound and curation, or a queer event with subpar sound.

We launched Ritual to bridge that gap. A house music ritual isn't about escape; it’s about a return—to the body, to rhythm, and to each other. In a culture driven by speed and performance, we prioritize deep grooves and true presence.

Since launching at the beginning of the year, we've held monthly, entirely free events. We hand-print and distribute intention cards to personally greet every single person who enters the space, ensuring they feel welcome, seen, and included. We've loved collaborating with local queer spaces from Understory to Old's Cool General Store, and our goal this year is to continue to grow and diversify our community offerings.
Our Collective Art Project for May 30:

For the Gemini Pride Edition, we are inviting everyone attending to bring an old piece of clothing, a scarf, a textile, or a piece of fabric—something once loved, worn, danced in, or lived in.

Throughout the night, we will collectively weave these pieces into a large community art installation inspired by the Ritual symbol: the circle. Each thread added becomes a part of our shared story—a living archive of the people, energy, and intention inside the space that night. No art experience is needed; just presence and a willingness to contribute to the weave.

We’ve attached our event flyer to this email. We would be so grateful to be included in your weekly listings, or featured as a standout community event for the weekend!
