Show up in your finest coastal Italian looks - think breezy linens, lemon prints, silk scarves, crisp whites, ocean blues, statement sunnies, and just the right amount of drama. It’s la dolce vita — but make it queer. 💋🍋🏖️🇮🇹🌈
Queer East Social is a celebration of freedom, identity, and community honouring the intersection of Black and 2SLGBTQIA+ experiences. We gather to celebrate how far we’ve come, acknowledge how far we have to go, and stand united against hate in all its forms.
We’ve heard from community leaders about the importance of showing up loudly and consistently as allies beyond our roles in hospitality and we’re committed to listening, learning, and creating safer, more affirming spaces for all.
What to Expect:
Hosted by Café ZUZU at 555 Dundas Street East, this edition of Queer East Social brings together local Queer and Trans organizations, creatives, and businesses to connect with one another in an atmosphere of joy, solidarity, and celebration. Come ready to dance, shop, connect, and support queer-owned and/or operated vendors!

Our Stand & Why We Gather:At Gusto 54 (Café ZUZU), we believe in the power of community and the importance of amplifying voices that have historically been silenced. Through our social impact arm, Gusto Gives Back, and with our roots now planted in Regent Park, we’re proud to host this event as part of our ongoing commitment to equity, representation, and justice.
Rules of Engagement:We believe we are all made better by the diversity that exists within our communities. Our values are grounded in creating a space where every guest, vendor, and team member feels welcome, respected, and free to be themselves.
We hold a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind—including racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any behavior that undermines the dignity of others.
Systemic oppression, against Black, Indigenous, racialized, queer, and other marginalized communities has existed for generations. Only sustained, intentional action will change that. We're committed to being part of that change.
