Features Carolin Mateus (@carolin_mateus ) teaching intro to House!
✨ Carolin Mateus is a talented dancer, teacher, and choreographer hailing from Bogotá, Colombia. Her journey in the field of dance began in 2010 when she joined the renowned company Soulbeat. It was with Soulbeat that she delved into the world of street dance, exploring and mastering various styles under the guidance of different masters. Her training encompassed a wide range of styles, including hip-hop, waacking, house, krump, dancehall, locking, popping, Afro, reggaeton, and other supplementary training styles.
✨ House Dance is a style of dance that originated in the late 70’s and early 80’s from underground clubs in Chicago and New York. The style was influenced by several types of movement, including Tap, African dance, Latin dance, and martial arts. House dance is often improvised and emphasizes fast and complex foot-oriented steps combined with fluid movements in the torso, as well as floor work.
