Lez Beach

We’re U-Hauling back to the beach for the final time this year on SUNDAY, October 11th 🔥🪵✨

Ferries stop heading to Hanlan’s on October 14th, so we’re closing off the season. Join us to watch the sunset, enjoy a bonfire made by our strong lesbian hands, and connect with the community. This is an even chiller vibe than our usual gatherings, so feel free to bring your poetry, guitars and anything else you’d like to share.

🌭We will have free marshmallows, smore supplies and hotdogs (including vegan and halal options!)

🌬️ It gets cold on the island after dark, so we highly suggest bringing a sweater and a blanket!

⛴️ We’re handing out 50 free ferry tickets at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. Catch the 5:15PM! The last ferry back to the city is at 10:30. Pack up by 10 to make sure you don’t get stranded!

🔥 Please practice fire safety. If you want to build your own, make sure you know what you’re doing and you bring your own wood! Removing wood from the island can seriously harm the ecosystem.

Lez Beach is first and foremost a grassroots gathering to combat rising levels of harassment and exclusion towards lesbians in queer spaces. Hanlan’s Point Beach is a public, clothing optional space and we cannot control who can and who cannot enter the space during Lez Beach. This is a gathering to encourage safety and reclaim space for sapphics in the queer community. There is zero tolerance for racism, transphobia, fatphobia or misogyny. If you do not connect to the sapphic experience, we ask you to reconsider the space you’re entering.
