KONDUKTOR returns for its 11th edition, bringing another chapter of forward-thinking club music to Toronto. Rooted in electro but never defined by it, the project keeps growing, shaped by a community that shows up and keeps coming back.
For this edition, KONDUKTOR welcomes GRRL.
North Carolina's GRRL is a DJ and producer with a monthly residency on NTS since 2015 and a discography that pulls the best from electro, techno, jungle, jersey club, grime, and breaks. Writing, producing, and mixing everything themselves, their tracks are built around dense percussion, glitchy vocal chops, and heavy club energy that is designed for a powerful system inside a dark sweaty room. This March, GRRL released "Beetle" a 24-track record that runs through ballroom, braindance, hyperpop, and hard-edged techno without losing focus. Give it a proper listen, and expect the same range in the set.
Joining us for the first time: SHAINGEL, who is a regular in Toronto’s queer spaces, bringing bass-heavy and genre-fluid sets to the dance floor, including global club sound across ghettotech, gqom, bailefunk and more. Support from residents /ASYNC and HYCASTLE going b2b for the first time, fusing freaky bass with deep technicality; closing set from XELA with some distorted analogue influenced breaks.
