Unpretentious Vibes & Astounding Sound, BODYCLOCK is a queer & bipoc-centric weekly underground electronic dance party happening on the EVERY THURSDAY at the Piston. Hang out at the front bar or dance it out in the back, we'll be featuring some deep cuts from the city's best local selectors. Each week we deliver a different format to make your body shake and free yourself from the grind. Non-queer folks are welcome :)
TECHNO GUEST: BURNIN' VERNON
Burnin’ Vernon exists within a few different lanes of music: peak and hypnotic techno, melodic techno, and progressive house. Her sets are described as intelligent, well-crafted explorations of psychedelic sounds, dark bass lines and cerebral synths. She has been at the DJ game since 2012 and recently played her first international gig in Berlin alongside Katermukke producer Dirty Doering in July of 2024. You may have caught her around the city at TechnoSalon, MOOI, and Kinetic.
She is also the host and producer of an independent techno podcast called Hot Spot Radio whereby she hosts guest DJs from Toronto and around the world, including Beth Lydi, Barbuto and Vom Feisten.
Humble and grateful, Burnin’ Vernon’s presence behind the decks is a little bit mesmerizing to witness. She sort of loses herself sometimes as she explores the sounds of her tracks and explores the potential and dynamics of the audio system she is playing on.
