BLACK QUEER FILMMAKERS SUMMIT TORONTO

The Black Queer Filmmakers Summit is an interactive gathering for creatives who share stories through film and other visual mediums.

Our 2024 summit, THE LIBERATED LENS, explores the various ways we define “Black queer storytelling”, and why these identities impact our work. We look at the traditional and experimental ways we bring these stories to myriad screens, and how Black queer creatives redefine and reimagine “filmmaking”. This includes those who incorporate film in multidisciplinary art; create digital content; or weave experiences captured through mobile devices.

THE LIBERATED LENS welcomes all Black queer creatives who tap into the power of moving visuals to bring our stories to life!
