Toronto’s favourite queer dance party is going “back to school” on September 20th with the reopening of Bampot House of Tea and another legendary night of drag artistry and big ol’ gay revelry!
Frooters is a queer dance party inspired by the question: what would a gay Hooters look, sound, and feel like?
Our take? It'd be slutty, glittery, and gay!
Since we Froots had our first party in April 2023, Frooters has been a favourite of girls, gays, transes, and theys in Toronto and beyond. While the world is burning, we’ve somehow managed to carve out a space to celebrate, express ourselves, and play — which is essential if we’re to carry on organizing and fighting back. By the end of the night, we know that we’ve put on a good show if people have heard their favourite song, broke a sweat dancing, and tasted a fun Frooty drink.
Featuring the talents of Jessie James, Kanna Worm, Manon Bourgeois, and co-hosted by community organizer Ty Riches and drag artist and seamstress Calypso Cosmic at Toronto’s very own anti-café, Bampot House of Tea, this is one back to school party you won't want to miss!

FUNDRAISING CAUSE
We do not believe in charity. We believe in liberation. Frooters has always been about celebrating joy while we fight for a better world. In throwing this party, we have historically tried to raise money to put towards causes with revolutionary potential.
In June 2024, we donated part of our revenues to the United Nations Relief & Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
In October 2024, we used part of our revenues to donate e-SIM cards for Gazans.
In March 2024, we wanted to focus on our responsibility here in the imperial core, so we donated part of our revenues to the Toronto chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement, as part of a call for mutual aid for Gazan refugees who had recently settled in Toronto.
For this party, we want to donate part of our revenues to Menta Space.
